Tutoring Reimagined
What I offer:
I specialize in designing individualized writing courses for students in grades 4-12.
Why a course rather than "just tutoring"?
An individualized course provides each student with transferable skills that they can apply to ALL future academic and professional work
In other words, as the saying goes: "Give a person a fish, and you feed them for a day. Teach a person to fish, and you feed them for a lifetime."
In an individualized course, sessions may include both:
Targeted skill instruction (via custom-designed "extracurricular" assignments
Assignment-based tutoring (school assignments, summer work, and/or admissions essays)
Courses typically fall into one or more of these categories:
Academic writing: students work to deepen their analytical thinking and communicate thoughtful ideas in organized, polished school assignments
Writing enrichment: students further their passion for writing, expand their analytical and creative writing skills, and publish their written work
Admissions essays (as part of a broader semester-long course): students craft essays for independent school, college, and extracurricular applications
